Bahrain’s highest Shiite religious authority, Sheikh Isa Qassim, paid tribute to the late Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, describing him as “a great righteous servant” whose leadership embodied the ideals of Islam.
In a statement released as millions gathered for Ayatollah Khamenei’s funeral ceremonies in Tehran, Sheikh Qassim said the slain Iranian Supreme Leader and his predecessor, the late Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, had “opened every gate of goodness and closed every gate of evil” for the world through their leadership, urging humanity to “embrace this eternal great blessing.”
He also expressed support for the Islamic Republic’s new leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, saying he follows the same path as his father and Imam Khomeini.
“His methodology is their methodology, his objective is their objective, his sincerity is for those to whom they were sincere, and his adherence follows the same course as theirs,” Sheikh Qassim said.
