Bahrain’s highest Shiite religious authority, Sheikh Isa Qassim, said the US-Israeli war on Iran and regional resistance factions is a decisive contemporary battle that reflects Imam Hussain’s seventh-century struggle at Karbala.
In a statement on Ashura, which commemorates Imam Hussain’s martyrdom, Sheikh Qassim said the ultimate objective of the US-Israeli war is to “subjugate, humiliate, and enslave” the entire Muslim world.
“The participation of several Arab states in this unjust war, standing alongside the enemy against the Resistance Front, has caused immense hardship and grave suffering for large segments of their populations: mass imprisonment, displacement, forced exile, revocation of citizenship, accusations of treason, and the breakup of families without mercy,” the statement reads.
Sheikh Qassim explained that those targeted by Arab regimes are being persecuted simply for opposing their governments’ alignment with the enemies of the Muslim and Arab world.
He also praised the Iran-led Resistance Axis for responding to the attack “with unmatched courage, immense and uncalculated sacrifices, strong principles, exceptional wisdom and experience, determination and pride, patience and resilience, deep insight and unity, and outstanding coordination, without confusion or panic in the face of surprises.”
“This reflects long-term strategic endurance led by exemplary leadership, foremost among them the martyred Imam Sayyed Khamenei, followed by his distinguished son Mojtaba, who has continued the blessed jihadist leadership path with remarkable success.”
Sheikh Qassim asserted that “those who fill today’s battlefields against American and Israeli aggression are the supporters of Imam Hussain in the present, steadfast, free, sincere believers. Their stance, loyalty, courage, and sacrifice mirror those of Hussain’s companions in Karbala, and their outcome will be a blessed one.”
